Conduct economic evaluation of Alaska Airlines & Horizon Air network to determine future frequency levels, markets, aircraft gauge, and cities
Monitor airline industry events and trends to determine implications for Alaska Airlines & Horizon Air network
Evaluate network fit and economics of current and potential Alaska Airlines & Horizon Air aircraft types
Manage the route forecasting model to ensure that it is calibrated for maximum accuracy
Develop more effective ways of accessing and disseminating performance data
Construct infrastructure of models and tools to support development of the long term planning process
Provide ad-hoc analysis and input as required in support of commercial planning decisions, company presentations, internal / external communications etc.
Serve as mentor to other analysts on team
Other duties as assigned
Embody the Alaska Spirit and conduct oneself with Professionalism, Integrity, Resourcefulness and Caring
Degree in aviation management, business, economics, statistics, mathematics or finance or relevant experience required
MBA and/or applicable masters degree is preferred
Minimum of three years airline planning experience is preferred
Minimum of three years of analytics experience required
Fleet planning experience preferred
Knowledge of airline fundamentals and economics required
Knowledge of modeling/forecasting methodology and systems required
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
Proven analytical skills and understanding of analytical processes required
Strong communication and presentation skills, with ability to work & communicate to all levels of the company including senior executives required
Strategic scenario development and opportunity cost analysis preferred
Statistics and financial fundamentals knowledge preferred
Must be a strategic thinker who can see "the big picture" while understanding the details
Must be a self starter who is able to set priorities consistent with departmental goals and work independently
Minimum age of 18
Must be authorized to work in the U. S.
