Alaska Airlines Hangar Avionics Technician in Seattle, Washington

POSITION INFORMATION

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Repair and perform maintenance of aircraft electrical and electronic equipment.

  • Inspect, test, adjust and repair aircraft communication, navigation and flight control systems.

  • Adhere to all internal Alaska Airlines policies and procedures and governing workplace rules of conduct to ensure no direct threat to the health and safety of others, including adherence to all security process, procedures and related requirements.

  • Perform all work in a prompt timely manner, adhering to all attendance reliability policies and procedures.

  • Exercise the authority of an Airframe & Powerplant / FCC in signing the Aircraft Maintenance Log for Airworthiness Release or Return to Service of an aircraft or aircraft component, ensuring such is in accordance with ASA policies and procedures.

  • Ensure that a clean, safe, and orderly work area is maintained at all times

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Embody the Alaska Spirit and conducts oneself with Safety, Professionalism, Integrity, Resourcefulness, and Caring

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Valid Driver's license with a good driving record required

  • Valid Airframe & Powerplant and FCC licenses are required

  • 4+ years of experience preferred

  • 2+ years of experience on commercial heavy jet aircraft required

  • Strong knowledge of aircraft systems and an ability to troubleshoot and problem solve technical issues required

  • Experience utilizing schematics and wiring diagrams preferred

  • Knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration regulations and company procedures required

  • Flexible to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays required

PAY

The position pays per the AMFA union agreement. The current starting pay is $26.44 per hour plus $5.00 per hour license premium pay. Shift differential pay is also available at $.60 additional per hour for second shift and $.75 additional per hour third shift.
