This role is responsible for executing the strategy for Endpoint Platforms at Alaska Air Group. As a people leader, the Manager, Endpoint Platforms leads and establishes priorities for the team to provide stable, secure and performant Endpoint Platforms for both on-prem and cloud resources.
Leads a highly technical team responsible for ensuring the integrity, availability, and security of AAG's endpoint platforms and other critical systems requiring specialized infrastructure administration.
Ensures database platforms meet/exceed critical systems disaster recovery objectives.
Collaborates and influences other IT teams to improve systems support, monitoring, and administration.
Ensures robust capacity planning and life cycle management processes are developed and executed by the team.
Lead and/or influence cross divisional enterprise infrastructure projects related to endpoint platforms
Define the long-term strategy for endpoint platforms and their implementation.
Monitor and evaluate platform effectiveness and implement improvement strategies.
Manages vendor relationships, ensuring highest quality and reasonable costs.
Writes business cases to gain Senior leadership support
Develops people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback, focusing on delegation for stretch assignments, growing and developing the team for capacity and growth, looking at performance across the team, and time management.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
5 years of experience with Endpoint Technologies
2 years of people leadership experience
Bachelor’s degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree
A minimum of 8 years of experience in a technical role.
In-depth knowledge of the following:
Desktop operating systems: Windows (physical and virtual), Mac
Endpoint Platforms: Altiris infrastructure, MECM (formerly SCCM) infrastructure, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (Horizon View and Azure Virtual Desktops), Citrix, patching and remote imaging.
Experience with the following:
Leveraging new technologies to improve process, reduce support, and/or lower costs.
Designing and implementing enterprise systems utilizing such platforms as Windows Server, UNIX, Linux, Virtualization, Cloud, Active Directory, etc.
Implementing projects involving enterprise hardware and/or software technology integration
Deploying and managing endpoint security tools such as Defender, Netskope and Carbon Black
Knowledge of networking concepts (e.g., advanced networking, switching, and routing) and backup technologies and policy management.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
Proven team building, coaching and mentoring skills.
Proficient project planning, risk management, scheduling, and execution, with a proven ability to work effectively in stressful work environment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum age of 18.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Technical and/or process improvement certification.
