Role Summary

Alaska Airlines is seeking a Financial Systems Analyst to join the Finance Systems team. This team develops solutions as part of the delivery and support team focused in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Integration, software selection, business process improvement and automation for Alaska Airlines. This team makes recommendations to improve and support decisions that address business strategies, in partnership with a team of analysts, to solve routine to moderately complex problems and improve processes for Alaska Airlines.

Key Duties

  • In the Financial Systems Analyst, under general supervision, you will take initiative to develop solutions in PeopleSoft that is supporting General Ledger, Asset Management, Accounts Payable, or Purchasing modules.

  • In the Sr. Financial Systems Analyst, you will lead process improvement by investigating, identifying, and implementing PeopleSoft features or modules not currently in use; identifying areas where business processes depart from delivered PeopleSoft 9.2 software solutions; providing input into FSCM selective adoption strategy.

  • In the Principal Financial Systems Analyst, as a subject matter expert you will exercise considerable latitude and initiative on projects across divisions and ensures strategic goals, timelines, and project specifications are met. This role utilizes their professional expertise in the management and improvement of financial related systems, data integration, and SaaS solutions.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Financial Systems Analyst Required:

  • 2 years of experience with functional analysis supporting PeopleSoft Financials or another large enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.

  • Bachelor’s degree, with a focus in Finance, Accounting or Information Technology, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.

  • Working knowledge of the business; P2P (Procure to Pay), Financial Reporting or Accounting.

  • Ability to exercise good judgement, attention to detail, and analytical acumen for problem solving in daily activities and analysis.

  • Self-starter with the ability to set and balance priorities, work independently and take ownership.

  • Passionate about business being done right with the ability to produce timely and accurate results.

  • Strong disposition for customer service supported by excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills.

  • Willingness to learn from and return value to Finance stakeholders by working collaboratively with others and as part of a team.

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Minimum age of 18.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Sr. Financial Systems Analyst Required:

  • 4 years of experience with functional analysis supporting PeopleSoft Financials or another large enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.

  • Bachelor’s degree, with a focus in Finance, Accounting or Information Technology, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.

  • Thorough understanding of the business; P2P (Procure to Pay), Financial Reporting or Accounting.

  • Ability to quickly learn processes and systems and recommend appropriate changes, to gain stakeholder buy-in.

  • Proven conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Passionate about business being done right with the ability to produce timely and accurate results.

  • A self-starter who takes ownership of their work and excels with minimum supervision.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and effectively manage multiple, concurrent tasks.

  • A strong disposition for customer service supported by excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills.

  • Willingness to learn from and return value to Finance stakeholders by working collaboratively with others and as part of a team.

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Minimum age of 18.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Principal Financial Systems Analyst Required:

  • 7 years of experience with functional analysis supporting PeopleSoft Financials or another large enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Finance, Accounting or Information Technology, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.

  • Advanced understanding of the business; P2P (Procure to Pay), Financial Reporting or Accounting.

  • Possess a blend of technical and business acumen; a big picture vision and the drive to make the vision a reality.

  • Ability to quickly learn complex processes and systems, recommend appropriate changes, to gain stakeholder buy-in, and to lead implementations.

  • Proven conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Passionate about business being done right with the ability to produce timely and accurate results.

  • A self-starter who takes ownership of their work and excels with minimum supervision.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and effectively manage multiple, concurrent tasks.

Preferred

  • PeopleSoft experience in a functional/business analyst or support role:

  • PeopleSoft query skills

  • PeopleSoft Financials Data Model

  • PeopleSoft security

  • PeopleSoft implementations/upgrades in 9.X

  • Oracle PUM continuous delivery, selective adoption model

  • PeopleSoft approval framework

  • nVision

  • Airline experience.

  • CPA certification.

  • International Institute of Business Analysis CCBA or CBAP certification
